Military

Accurate in any environment and at any orientation, while consuming less than 1/10 the power of ordinary magnetic sensors, PNI's high-performance compass modules perform reliably in the most demanding real-world applications.

Navigation

PNI's low-power, high-accuracy SmartSens and CompassPoint sensors provide reliable directional information even when GPS signal is not available — and unlike GPS, PNI's magneto-inductive sensors provide instantaneous heading information that helps improve the accuracy of GPS navigation. PNI's TCMs incorporate accelerometers for accurate compass heading under any conditions — and through a full 360 degrees of tilt.

Robotics

PNI's sensors use the Earth's magnetic field and gravity to navigate and determine orientation, enabling accurate high-resolution measurement in the air, on the ground, or underwater. SmartSens and CompassPoint sensors provide direction data to hobby and toy robots. TCM sensor modules are ideal for high-performance robots, providing high-resolution compass heading in any orientation, as well as accurate pitch and roll, temperature, and raw magnetometer and accelerometer sensor readings. These sensor outputs allow robots to collect precise data and navigate in environments where human beings can't go.

Survey and Targeting

The industry standard for terrestrial and oceanographic mapping, SONAR targeting, undersea pipeline construction, and navigational guidance of remote surveying vehicles, PNI's sensors and modules compensate for the effects of magnetic materials and extreme or fluctuating tilt ranges. This enables them to determine accurate pitch, roll, and heading anywhere — a mountaintop, the ocean floor, or out on the open sea — while using a fraction of the power of ordinary sensors.

System Orientation

Whether aligning solar arrays for maximum energy yield, drilling for oil, or mapping ocean currents, the accuracy of PNI sensor modules is ideal for applications in which the margin of error makes all the difference.

Tracking and Monitoring

Ideal for tracking canine search-and-rescue units, performing dead-reckoning functions, monitoring and controlling automobile traffic, or managing a vehicle fleet, PNI's high-resolution, temperature-stabilized sensors and modules determine accurate heading even when GPS won't work.
